Hospitality Cadetship

The Cadetship is an entry-level program encouraging anyone who’s looking to get into the hospitality industry. You will learn the basics of food and beverage with on the job training within the dedicated venues through The Point portfolio. We consider our trainees to be the future of our group. All venues in our group offer this position.

Operations

One venue, rotation through departments

Store and Cellar: skills learnt include store organisation, stock and equipment control and rotation, beverage knowledge

Food: skills learnt include kitchen organisation, basic knife skills, stock and equipment control, menu knowledge

Floor service: skills learnt include service and floor standards, customer interaction, table clearing, table delivery

Bar service: skills learnt include service and bar standards, customer interaction, bar stocking, bar presentation

Reservations, functions and events: skills learnt include an overview of sales and marketing, customer interaction and follow up

 

Chef Apprenticeship

Start your career as a Chef by doing an apprenticeship program with The Point. Unleash your creative talent and become a leader. This will give you the skills to progress to a permanent kitchen management position at the end of the program. All venues in the group offer this position.

Operations

Based in one venue, with the ability to request to move between venues within the portfolio as you progress

Skills learnt include kitchen organization, stock and equipment control and rotation, Kitchen hygiene, product knowledge, creative processes, menu construction, financial management, rostering and wage control, gross profit percentage control, staff training and people management, supervisory skills.

Our Goal – To recruit, train and develop and retain high quality staff. If you complete a Cadetship with The Point Group you will have the skills to set you up for a hospitality career, and give you the necessary competency to be a permanent bar or floor position in our venues. It is also the perfect start to our Graduate Program.

 

Graduate Program

Whilst studying, accelerate your career by doing a graduate program with The Point. This will give you the skills and experience to obtain a management position after your 3-year graduate program.

Learn the importance of guest experience, food and beverage service, operations and management.

Applicants must be enrolled in an on-line, college, TAFE or university course.

Operations

Rotation through 4 Venues and group departments

As per the cadetship program, only a more extensive level of in venue food and beverage training, rotating through 4 different venues and in addition –

Venue Management Team: Whilst rotating through four venues you will be part of each of the venue management team learning operational and financial management skills. During the venue rotation you will also be learning people management skills.

Group Marketing Team: For a portion of the program you will part of the Group Marketing Team Learning marketing fundamentals, brand management, social media strategy, graphic design coordination, publicity and promotional skills.

Senior Group Management Team: For a portion of the program you will spend time with the senior executives of the group, gaining an understanding of group structure and the various roles and responsibilities of the team.

Our Goal To recruit, train and develop and retain high quality staff. If you complete a Graduate Traineeship with The Point Group you will have the skills to set you up for a hospitality career, and give you the necessary competency to be a permanent salaried supervisor or member of the management in our venues.
